What is Car Insurance?

Car insurance is a proven method to protect your money and prevent money loss in case of emergency. Auto insurance can cover all possible damages to your car and money losses, including damages to the car itself and the cost of medical treatment you need to undergo after the accident. Car insurance offers a wade range of coverage to all types of drivers and vehicles.

Auto insurance has a long history. Your car is constantly at risk and you can lose both the car and the money. The first vehicles provided with insurance were cargo ships that travel from China into Atlantic Ocean. The risk of meeting with pirates was too high to undertake it without any compensation.
It was an English company who created an auto insurance policy that implied liability coverage in 1895. Three years later Dr. Truman J.Martin created the US variant of such a policy.

As soon as the first motor vehicle was introduced in the USA in 1908 car insurance policies became widely spread. But only in 1927 the first mandatory auto insurance law was certified in Massachusetts.

Nowadays compulsory car insurance exists in every state of the US. Despite the fact that car insurance standards and requirements differ from state to state all of them provide at least minimum protection against damage and money losses. Lack of car insurance can lead to imprisonment or severe losses of money and everything you own.

Statistics show that every family at least once benefited from car insurance as more and more car accidents happen every year. Investigate your state auto insurance law in order to choose the right type of car insurance.

Car insurance must be chosen according to your age, sex, the type of your car (or motorcycle, etc), how long you drive and so on.

The basic car insurance covers the liability for damages to other people, including passengers, damage to other people’s belongings. Old cars are usually get the basic level of insurance only to cover damage to health and to other people’s property as it’s easier to buy a new car than to repair a very old even if you have got a compensation.

The next level implies liability for fire and theft in addition to above. And the highest level of car insurance covers all the possible damages, including damages to other people and their belongings, damages to health and damages to your own car if you are to blame for the accident.

But even these three main levels have a lot of alternatives to choose between.
